Grapefruit & Sage Champagne Cocktail

Light, chic and a bit sophisticated, while still being simple and delicious.

Here's a lovely take on a festive cocktail.





















INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 ounce freshly squeezed grapefruit juice

  • 1 1/2 ounces sage simple syrup

  • Champagne or sparkling wine

  • Garnish: grapefruit slice and sage leaf

Sage Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 bunches of fresh sage leaves

Stir together sugar and water over med high heat until sugar dissolves

Stir in sage leaves and simmer for 30 seconds

Remove from heat and let cool completely

Discard sage leaves and store syrup into a bottle or jar.



DIRECTIONS:

  • add grapefruit juice and simple syrup into a champagne flute or coupe

  • top with chilled champagne and garnish with grapefruit slice and fresh sage leaf
